Small Diameter Bomb Lesson Learned
 In 2006 the United States Air Force brought in a new munition the GBU-39 and a new bombrack the Bru-61. It was the first of its kind a new kind of munition that was able to be controlled from the ground and guided into targets as required. These bombs were different on many levels besides just that one thing. These bombs were not ejected like all previous munitions in the Air Forces history. These bombs are pneumatically pushed off of the bomb rack rather than the old fashion ejection process with cartridges that look like oversized shotgun shells.      In 2015 I was on a deployment and an F-15E had two hung munitions on the CFT's loaded on the side of the aircraft. When the aircraft returned to base the crew chiefs removed all fuel from the aircraft and the weapons personal on shift removed every munition from the aircraft that required carts. It was determined at that time that since the BRU-61 didn't have carts to eject the munition on the ground. They left the B...
